HBA Volunteer Day at the Treehouse

Mt. Airy Forest

Friday, October 6th, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Stuart is in need of some helping hands this Friday and the HBA would appreciate those who are interested in swinging a hammer to contact Lisa at (513) 851-6300 to confirm your attendance.

Wear your HBA shirt because the local media has been stopping by to monitor the progress. Box lunches will be served.

The treehouse will have a series of ramps that will be 6 feet wide. The ramps will being with poured concrete leading down from a parking area. Long wooded ramps then gradually will rise through the forest up to the treehouse floor.

The completed project will stand 14 feet tall, supported by black locust logs chosen for their strength and excellent resistance to rot.

The floor of the treehouse will be made from ipe, a strong, rot-resistant wood from the tropics.

Stuart and John have been hard at work building the treehouse. The platform is just about done, and framing should begin by the end of this week.

Day One - Treehouse Project

As most of you already know we are helping to build the tri-state's first universally accessible treehouse in Mt. Airy Forest.

The completed project will stand 14 feet tall and be 1500 sqaure feet.

Longtime HBA member Stuart Cowan and his son John started construction just this week.
